A Boat in the Morning Sunlight

by David Gibbeson

On a summer’s dawn I stood at the top of the cliffs at the Valley of Rocks. It was a glorious morning, looking out across the ocean before me I saw this small boat with two fishermen aboard heading across my view. It reminded me of all the times I had enjoyed working on a charter boat in my early adult life and the way in the morning sun, miles from anywhere I felt truly alive and free without a care in the world.
